EPeeps Hannah West | Senior Account Executive

Kia ora,

My name is Hannah and I work as a Senior Account Executive in theNew Zealand team at Education Perfect. I was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland but have lived in Ōtepoti, Dunedin for the past 10 years and it’s definitely now home.

I’ve been at Education Perfect for five and a half years.  I started off in the Inbound Team working in customer support, then moved to a sales support role, then to a business development role and finally into my current role, Senior Account Executive within the New Zealand team.

Why do you love working at EP?

My favourite thing about working at EP is the people I work with and the work I’m doing. I feel incredibly grateful that I can honestly say on a Sunday night, I look forward to work on a Monday morning. Another reason I love working at EP is the various initiatives and working groups that we have set up. Last year, Education Perfect went through the process of getting the Rainbow Tick and held a rainbow breakfast to celebrate at the end of the process where we invited members of the queer community and allies from local businesses to join. As someone who identifies as queer, it was great to see my workplace not only embracing diversity but also looking for ways to improve.

What’s your favourite feature of the platform?

My favourite feature of the platform would be the ease with which teachers can differentiate material for their students and automatically set work to fill gaps in their knowledge. Taking teachers through this for the first time and seeing their faces light up as they realise how much time it could potentially save them is incredibly rewarding.

What keeps you busy when you’re not working?

It’s no secret around the office that I’m a golf fanatic. Practicing, playing, watching, helping out at the club… you name it, I’m into it. I’ve been playing for four and a half years now and am the Club Captain at St Clair Golf Club. I also love to cook, read, binge watch Netflix shows, and listen to podcasts.

What is your secret talent?

I’m not sure if I’d call it a secret talent but I used to be a competitive Irish dancer. I represented my dance school regionally, nationally and internationally. My biggest achievement for that was placing third at the Australasian championships. I also enjoy cup stacking (I’d highly recommend checking this out online if you haven’t heard of it), juggling, and playing the ukulele.

Where is somewhere you’d like to visit?

I would love to visit Canada for the scenery, Scotland for the golf and Ireland for the culture, music and scenery.
