Janet Schneider - Head of Languages, Brisbane State High School
Janet leads a team of 20+ staff across six languages, bringing 25 years' experience from Prep to Year 12. A frequent presenter at national and international conferences, she focuses on relational pedagogy and strategic curriculum design. Janet is deeply committed to creating emotionally safe learning environments, and empowering both educators and students through reflective, collaborative practice grounded in trust and shared purpose.
Emily Liccioni - Instructional Coach & Languages Advocate
With over two decades' educational experience across the UK and Australia, Emily is an expert in curriculum transformation and student engagement in Languages. After ten years in the classroom, she transitioned into instructional coaching, partnering with Languages teachers to reimagine their curriculum from the ground up. Her work centres on transforming traditional units of work into learning experiences that are authentic, academically rigorous and project-based. Emily is a passionate advocate for addressing student retention by making language learning meaningful, purposeful, and practically connected to students' lives.
Philippa Kruger - Senior Product Manager (Languages), Education Perfect
A former French teacher and Head of Department with over a decade of classroom experience, Philippa deeply understands the unique pressures and rewards of language teaching. At Education Perfect, she oversees the development of EP's Languages product, advocating for tools that reflect the realities of the modern classroom. She is driven by the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn a second language. Her goal is to make language learning accessible and exciting for all through authentic, real-world contexts.
