World Ocean Day!

June 8th is World Ocean Day, a time to celebrate our planet’s lifeblood – the oceans. To mark the occasion, we’re launching a competition centred on our Sustainable Oceans content. Learn about our marine ecosystem, and challenge your students to a deeper understanding. Register your students to take part in the EP and Blue Penguin ‘Sustainable Oceans Project’  between June 6th and 10th.

Updated Mathematics skills folder for Level 2 & 3 Science students!

Level 2 and 3 NCEA students – especially in Physics and Chemistry – need a strong foundation in mathematics skills. Using units, rearranging equations, scientific notation, trigonometry and so much more. We have added in a mathematics skills specific folder to the Senior Skills area of EP ready for you to help strengthen up those key foundations.

Our Living World content has had new lessons arrive this month! Look out for practical activities on classifying leaves, Aotearoa specific biodiversity and invasive species context lessons and creating infographics for plant and animal cells.

Investigate Bioplastic: Eco-friendly
with Hangarua

Plastic is one of the greatest sources of pollution in te ao (the world)! The use of bioplastics could lead to better outcomes for te taiao (the environment) and our own hauora (health and wellbeing). Students will create their own bioplastic and understand the world of polymers as well as the potential of plastic alternatives!

We’ve just released a number of new lessons on coding with Scratch, available in the Digital Technologies area of the content library. Students will learn how to write a simple computer program and familiarise themselves with key terms that all computer programmers need to know!

New Advanced French video lessons!

We have just released the next batch of French video lessons focussing on more advanced level themes and topics. These are great for senior students to practice both their comprehension and production skills in engaging contexts. If you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to check out our Beginner level video lessons. And remember, it is possible to just assign the early sections of a lesson to make the videos more accessible for beginner learners.
