Decode Mental Health & Wellbeing

Decode is a high-quality, evidence-based program for students and teachers. It is the only engaging, curriculum-aligned program of its type offering entertainment-led learning, powered by research from Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

With 50% of all adult mental health problems beginning before the age of 14 years old, Decode aims to tackle this by supporting early intervention and prevention. If left untreated, mental health issues can have a direct impact on children’s learning outcomes, school attendance and behavioural issues.

With 16 video-led lessons at every year level from Year 5 to Year 8, Decode provides a consistent and cyclical learning programme that builds on students’ knowledge and guides them towards mastery.

Decode is hosted by TikTok sensation JasmineTXO, who is joined by a number of Australia’s most inspiring social media influences with lived experiences of mental health challenges.

Matterworks Decode Mental Health & Wellbeing Podcast

The research from Murdoch Children’s is clear; student mental health and wellbeing is this generation’s crisis and presents not only a barrier to learning, but a worrying trend. An overwhelming 85% of teachers aren’t confident teaching students about managing their mental health and wellbeing, and there is a clear need for credible resources that enable teachers to support students. Students who experience mental health concerns are more likely to fall behind in their learning outcomes, so acting now has a lasting impact on not only their future wellbeing, but their education.
