EPeeps Zen Khan | Head of Business Development, Middle East

Hello everyone,

My name is Zen Khan and I am the Head of Business Development Middle East at Education Perfect. Born and raised in Sheffield UK (a true Yorkshire lass!), I am the eldest of four girls and two boys.

Education has always played a huge part in my life starting with the struggle of growing up and not being encouraged to achieve my potential, right through to opening a new school as part of the founding SLT, and then starting my own businesses working with school leaders. Today I am working with international schools to improve education. I am happy to have broken through the glass ceiling.

My life is full of excitement and adventure and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love connecting with educators, business owners, and inspirational women to learn about their journey, inspire and be inspired.

I am happy to call sunny Dubai home. I have four boys and a lovely husband ???? (also an educator), a cat called Astro, and a Husky called Sky Khan. I love going to the gym, swimming, listening to podcasts, reading, and spending time with my family building memories.

Why become an EPeep?

It was always a dream to work as part of an international team, and as an EPeep I am doing what I enjoy, helping to improve education and making a difference to those that I am working with.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I recently joined EP and what I enjoy the most is meeting new people! For those that know me, I LOVE networking and learning about people. Everyday at EP is different and everyday I am meeting a new school leader, teacher, or an EP colleague. That is what makes the role exciting!

What does a typical day look like for you in your role?

No day is the same, I usually start by connecting with and responding to my colleagues who are based around the globe, responding to emails, attending scheduled meetings with schools (either face to face or online), catch ups with my colleagues based in the UAE (hello  Jonte ????), and planning networking events, outreach/marketing/conferences for schools across the Middle East.

What’s one thing that surprised you when you began working at Education Perfect

I was very surprised at how quickly I settled into my role, learned how to navigate the features of the platform and how easy it was to become part of the EP family.

What are you most excited about? (personal and/or work life)

I am really excited about the future, my role and growing EP in the region.

What advice would you pass on to a younger version of yourself?

This year I lost my amazing dad. He was the one that taught me to be strong and compassionate. The younger me would never have imagined life without my dad, but if i could go back and advise her, I would say:“Life will give you many ups and downs. Stay strong, believe in yourself and you can achieve the life that you dream of.”
